A contracted socket is a condition in which the tissues surrounding the eye socket become tight, making it difficult or impossible for the patient to wear an ocular prosthesis or artificial eye comfortably.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some of the treatment options we offer include socket expansion surgery, which involves the use of tissue expanders to stretch the skin and tissues around the socket, allowing for the placement of a larger prosthesis. We also offer socket conformers, which are custom-made devices that are placed in the socket to prevent further contraction and promote healing.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the Centre for Artificial Eye, we offer specialized management and treatment options for patients with contracted sockets.
